Olin hosts a number of broad community events where musicians create and perform. See below for more information.
Groups such as the Olin Conductorless Orchestra (OCO), Olin Jazz Orchestra (OJO), Olin Rock Orchestra (ORO), PowerChords, and the Wired Ensemble put on shows for all prospective students invited to the three annual Candidates Weekends. They perform in the Milas Hall Mezzanine, Norden Auditorium, and the Miller Academic Center.
The Olin EXPO or Exposition is a school event occurring at the end of each Fall & Spring semester. This is prime time for groups to put on performances! OCO, OJO, ORO, PowerChords, and the Wired Ensemble perform during EXPO, so make sure to check them out!
Admissions’ Fall Open House offers an opportunity for prospective students and their families to preview what life is like at Olin! Music groups perform at Open House to connect with “prospies” and introduce them to Olin Music culture.
Join Oliners for Family Weekend in mid-late October every year! Meet all of the wonderful groups and enjoy events catered to parents & families interested in Olin goings-on.
Students have traveled to New York for performances at the Metropolitan Opera, heard the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Hall, and produced the performances and compositions featured at numerous On- and Off-Campus venues in New York and New England. Students perform in ensembles across all musical genres, such as the Olin Conductorless Orchestra, Olin Jazz Orchestra, the Olin Rock Orchestra, PowerChords (Olin’s a cappella group), and the Wired Ensemble.
