Summary

The PowerChords' promise is to bring quality a cappella music to Olin both through their own performances and the performances of external groups invited to collaborate at concerts. As a group, their mission is to have fun through music and to improve as musicians, performers, and singers. PowerChords promises to contribute to the arts presence on Olin's campus and provide an opportunity for qualified musicians to have a rigorous and fun musical experience that can be shared with their peers.

Programs & Events

PowerChords practice times / dates are based on team availability. This is sampled at the beginning of the semester, after tryouts determine the team composition. PowerChords also performs Spring & Winter concerts in May and December, respectively, and at Candidates Weekends from late February to early March!

Join

PowerChords holds a tryout at the beginning of each semester. The tryout consists of a duet song, where each candidate performs alongside another candidate (although you will be judged individually). The sheet music for the song is posted by the leader of the club before each tryout and has included pieces such as “A Whole New World” from Aladdin.
